Share’s Inspiring Leadership Conference is back
Share look forward to bringing back the popular one-day Inspiring Leadership Conference for all inspiring and aspiring leaders in the housing sector and beyond.
The conference will focus on some of the challenges all leaders face: imposter syndrome, building resilience within your team, shaping organisational culture, how to develop leadership skills for staff who wish to progress their careers, inspiring those future leaders and much more! This is also an excellent networking opportunity which can help to build confidence and relationships as well as a chance to get career advice and support.
Share have a host of experienced professionals who will be speaking at the event, including:
Ann Johnson who will deliver a keynote on ‘The accidental leader’. Ann will be discussing her career from original founder and managing director of Blaze Manufacturing Solutions to her recent accomplishment of winning the prestigious ‘Inspiring Leader of the Year’ award at the 2023 Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES) Awards. Ann promises to share some funny anecdotes along the way!
Gordon Robertson will join us to deliver a workshop on Imposter syndrome and how to navigate it. With most Britons experiencing four out of the seven common signs of imposter syndrome (YouGov), this is certainly not one to miss. Gordon set up his own company in 2002 in order to be able to deliver interactive, impactful, and most of all engaging and fun learning events, and has worked with various organisations including Hilton, TUCO and the Scottish Football Association.
Hony Premlal, founder and CEO of Hony Premlal Consultancy, and chair for Eldon Housing Association and WISH (Women in Social Housing) London will be joining us for the ‘Building a thriving workplace – strategies for fostering a positive organisational culture’ workshop. Hony will discuss current housing sector challenges and strategies to navigate them effectively through communication and collaboration, leadership approaches suited for a hybrid work environment, fostering a positive culture within an organisation and more.
The conference will also see Lynn Kelly deliver ‘Leading with a difference’. Lynn is development director (Scotland) at Common Purpose, whose aim is to develop leaders who can cross social and cultural boundaries, enabling them to solve complex problems both at work and in society.
Joanne Taylor, managing director from AQR Consulting will be looking at ‘How to build team resilience when one size doesn’t fit all’, and Martin Johnston will feature as the closing keynote. Martin who is from At the Edge, will look at ‘Hosting leadership’ which will include thinking on curious and humble leadership, and how it reflects both a particular style of leadership (that of host rather than hero) and how leadership is so often about enabling the leadership of others.
As you can see, the event is shaping up to be a great day which will look at how to inspire and get the best from your teams, and the lessons to be learned in leadership.
The event takes place on 8th August at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central.
