SEATTLE, November 07, 2025–(BUSINESS WIRE)–PitchBook, the leading private capital market intelligence provider, today announced that Rod Diefendorf, President and Chief Operating Officer, has been named a 2025 Inspiring Leader by Inspiring Workplaces. The award honors leaders who go above and beyond to positively impact their organizations and the people within them.

Since joining PitchBook in 2016, Diefendorf has helped guide the company through transformational growth—from 500 employees to more than 3,000 globally—while ensuring its founding mission and values remain central. PitchBook’s mission is to bring transparency to the capital markets, empowering investors to make smarter, faster decisions. Its five core values—Customers are King, Excellence as a State of Mind, Embrace and Drive Change, Focus on Focus, and Make it Fun—continue to guide every aspect of the business.

“Rod has remained steadfast in keeping PitchBook’s company values at the forefront, demonstrating dedication to improving our offerings for both employees and customers,” said Amy Whaley, PitchBook’s Chief People Officer. “He shows genuine interest in the well-being of each employee. It’s evident in his everyday interactions – he listens, offers guidance, and makes sure everyone’s voice is heard. His dedication to the people and culture of our organization continues to leave a lasting impact and motivates us all to give our best.”

Diefendorf has been instrumental in shaping PitchBook’s operational and strategic direction, continuously leading the company into its next phase of growth. He guided PitchBook through a $225 million acquisition by Morningstar and just this last year, its own successful acquisition and integration of Lumonic. Under Diefendorf’s leadership, PitchBook introduced more rigorous training around sales and business operations to optimize growth and reinforce that ‘Customers are King’. PitchBook’s NPS score has remained strong, most recently achieving a score of 49.

Known for his approachable leadership, Diefendorf has continued to elevate PitchBook’s workplace experience while scaling globally. He’s known to regularly host new hire events and personally recognizes outstanding employees at the annual Panther Awards – helping make PitchBook’s culture both high-performing and deeply human. He established the Employee Engagement Team, which now hosts more than 200 events annually, and expanded the Employee Resource Groups and Inspiring Speakers Series – platforms that amplify diverse voices and perspectives across the organization.
