Dance Gallery Chicago creates legacy of inspired dancers | Good News 2025

It’s been another great year for Dance Gallery Chicago!

Celebrating its 28th anniversary, Dance Gallery Chicago is proud and humbled to stand out as a family business in the heart of Beverly: presenting breathtaking performances, educating and inspiring dancers every day and making an impact in the lives of young dancers and their families in a tight-knit community.

When Owner and Artistic Director Marylee Sinopoli first began to make plans for her studio, her unique vision for Dance Gallery Chicago was to create a space specially designed for professional dance instruction. Sinopoli fills the studio space with artistic inspiration, helping students awaken their creative spirit and develop their own talents and confidence both in and out of the studio. This unique space is so much more than a dance studio … it’s living art!

Sinopoli brings years of experience in teaching, choreographing and leading her staff of talented dance instructors.

Graduating from Barat College with a BFA in theater and dance, Sinopoli danced professionally. She trained extensively in ballet, jazz and modern dance at prestigious schools such as the Ruth Page Foundation, the Lou Conte Studio of Dance and the Gus Giordano Dance Studio.

Sinopoli and her instructors offer an encouraging environment where students develop a strong background in dance, improve posture, flexibility, rhythm, emotion, dedication, coordination and self-confidence.

Dance Gallery Chicago has created a true legacy as Sinopoli embraces a second generation of eager dancers entering the studio. The babies of her alumni dancers have now returned to the heart of Beverly to share the love of dance. Even after all these years, these families hold such an admiration of their former teacher, “Miss Marylee,” that they want to share that with their own children who are taking dance classes in the neighborhood studio.

Classes for all ages and levels are available and include all genres: creative movement, tiny tap, pre-ballet, ballet, pointe, jazz, hip-hop, tap, senior tap, lyrical, modern, yoga, ballroom, turns and leaps, strength and flexibility, and even a special-needs dance program.

The studio’s richly decorated space doubles as an art gallery featuring oil paintings and sculpture created by Marylee’s mother, artist Barbara Majeski, as well as exclusive photography by Martirena and student artwork.

Families rave about Dance Gallery Chicago, as witnessed by these testimonials:

“Love the owner of the studio here. Extremely dedicated to her students’ progress and brings in all styles of dance. There are two separate dance floors, so two classes can run at the same time with no interference.”

“It’s amazing to see how much the kids have progressed. Great feel of unity here at the studio. Truly a positive place to come and learn to dance, at all ages. The owner, you can tell, has put great work, care and time into creating a huge success at Dance Gallery.”

“Experience the difference” at Dance Gallery Chicago. Interested families can tour its state-of-the-art dance studios. For students who are new to the studio, they can try their first class for free!

More memorable moments await Dance Gallery Chicago students this coming season.

Young or old, join Dance Gallery Chicago this year for the training, for the fun, for the friendships, for the passion and to truly “experience the art of dance.”

“We open our studio to you,” said Sinopoli, “our hearts, minds, joy, training and experiences.”

The new 15-week fall session will be Sept. 2 through Dec. 13. The next spring dance concert will be performed in June 2026.
